Attendance

Attendance is based-on submission of weekly assignments posted to Seesaw. All five required assignments attached to the weekly menu will be due by 5pm on Sunday.

Grading

Seesaw posts are how we will be determining grades. Students will receive a “complete = 3 or 4 depending on student work submitted” or “incomplete = 1 or 2 based on evidence provided” (According to district policy, and to simplify the process, work will not be differentiated based on student ability. All assignments are created based on 2nd grade standards.) All grades will be coded by the teacher in the comment section attached to a student’s post. If an assignment received an incomplete score, the teacher will provide specific and timely feedback explaining how to enhance the work moving forward. To make learning and grading reasonable, we recommend only one assignment is posted daily in Seesaw. The district suggests students spread their workload out over the week (Monday-Friday), which allows a more manageable learning cycle for a primary child’s brain. The 2nd grade team highly recommends submitting one assignment per day. Again, we understand this ideal plan might not work for your family dynamic. Thus, we have a blanket statement that all assignments must be submitted by Sunday at 5pm. Grading remotely is a new concept for elementary students. This will require a commitment to the honor system. Parents are welcome to support their child with clarifications, directions, and any modifications based-on your child’s unique needs; however, the assignment needs to reflect the child’s understanding.

If you have any Technology Questions please fill out this form!
