Preschool Enrollment Information at Thunder Vista
We are excited to share that we offer half-day preschool sessions from Tuesday through Friday, with both morning and afternoon options available. If your child is turning 4 on or before October 1st, they qualify for free preschool through the Universal Preschool program. Thunder Vista offers 12 hours of free preschool for our 4 year olds.
Thunder Vista is a P-8 school, serving students from preschool through eighth grade. Our preschool program is particularly special, as it creates a nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Along with our dedicated staff, we have middle school helpers who mentor the preschool children, fostering a sense of community and encouraging positive interactions.
We take pride in our fantastic teachers who are committed to providing an inclusive program. Every child, regardless of their background or abilities, is welcomed and supported in their learning journey. Our inclusive approach ensures that all students feel valued and can fully participate in classroom activities.
Additionally, preschoolers have the opportunity to engage in various school-wide events, such as the fun run, promoting school spirit and allowing children to connect with their peers.
To apply for Universal Preschool, please visit UPK.colorado.gov, where you can select Thunder Vista and fill out an application.
Thank you for considering Thunder Vista for your child's preschool experience!
Our preschool classrooms grant our learners a safe, and content rich environment to explore their first learning opportunity. In addition, we value every opportunity to engage our parents as partners and collaborate with community stakeholders.
Dear Preschool Families,
Welcome to Thunder Vista P-8. My name is Marisa Bevens, and I am the Preschool Site Director. I am excited to have your preschool student join us this upcoming year.
It might be your child’s first experience in school, and our goal is to ensure that you and your child have a positive, fun, and engaging experience. Our classrooms provide an environment where your child can learn and grow. We hope our youngest learners feel safe and a part of the Thunder Vista community.
Thunder Vista Preschool will be offering half-day programs this upcoming school year. The morning session starts at 8:00 am and runs until 11:00 am. The afternoon session begins at 12:10 pm and concludes at 3:10 pm. Classes are Tuesday through Friday. There are no classes on Monday.
We follow the district units of study, which include all of the State of Colorado Academic Standards, to prepare your child for Kindergarten. This course of study follows the World of Wonders and Al’ Pals curriculum. Preschool teachers individualize the curriculum to fit your child’s needs so that they can grow and learn.
Thunder Vista offers free preschool to children four years of age. All children who are three years old must have an IEP (Individual Education Plan) as a prerequisite for acceptance. If you are interested in Thunder Vista Preschool, please apply with UPK (CO Universal Preschool).
Please email Adams 12 at ad12preschool@adams12.org if you have any questions over the summer.
