Food For Hope - Food Drive & Class Challenge: Empowering our Community
This year, our school has chosen to support a single charity/nonprofit organization throughout the year to ensure our efforts have a meaningful impact on the lives of others. We have chosen to partner with Food for Hope, as they support students right here in Adams 12.
Food for Hope's mission is to empower and strengthen the future of our communities by providing nutritious food to children in need. This fall, they are kicking off their "Feed 5000" initiative, which is a boxed food drive that supports local students. This program provides boxed and shelf-stable foods to students and their families around the holiday season.
To support this important cause, Thunder Vista will be hosting a boxed food drive from October 21st to November 21st. Students are encouraged to bring in donations of boxed foods such as cereal, rice, pasta, and stuffing.
To kick off the food drive, Ms. Roper has issued a challenge: the first class to collect 50 boxes of cereal will receive a fabulous pizza party with Ms. Roper!
Elementary classroom competition for the classroom that collects the most boxed items.
Middle school is competing as a grade level.
We are also challenging the first class to collect 50 full-sized cereal boxes to win a pizza party with Ms.Roper.
