Open House details for all locations - Jan. 6 Update

Today our teachers have been working hard to plan and get our temporary learning spaces ready for our Buffs! See below for new updates and important reminders. 

Important Updates:

• *NEW* Open House Dates and Times: To allow our families and students the opportunity to see their new school and classroom, we have established the following open house events. Feel free to stop by anytime during the window and stay as long as you’d like.  
  • Centennial Elementary (Grades P-1): Thursday, Jan. 8 from 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Arapahoe Ridge Elementary (Grades 2-3): Thursday, Jan. 8 from 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Hunters Glen Elementary (Grades 4-5): Friday, Jan. 9 from 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Shadow Ridge Middle (Grades 6-8): Friday, Jan. 9 from 5-6:30 p.m.
• Transportation will be provided to/from all learning locations. If you still have interest in transportation for your child, you still have time to sign up. Review the bus plan and schedule, and complete this form by 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7. You need to fill out the form once for each child. If you’ve already signed your child up for transportation, there’s no need to fill out the form again.
• New learning spaces are coming together! Necessary furniture and materials are being delivered to all temporary classrooms so they are ready when students return.

Important Reminders:

• Key Dates and Times: Students’ first day of school will be Monday, Jan. 12; School hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. with a soft start at 7:40 a.m. at all learning locations.

• Learning Locations: Grade levels will stay with their class and teachers. Temporary learning locations by grade levels.

Remediation and Repair Status

Remediation is going well and the odor in the building has significantly diminished. Remediation of the contained area on the 2nd floor and library is ongoing, and HVAC cleaning began on the 1st floor this afternoon. All musical instruments for the Thunderstruck performance will be cleaned and moved off site by the end of today.

Contractors and electrical engineers continue to evaluate the extent of repairs. We anticipate having more information on the cause and the repair timeline to share with the community early next week.

We Are One Project

I’ve loved seeing the We Are One sign and art projects, keep them coming! As a reminder, make a sign or art project that shows that We Are One. Have your family take a picture of your sign or project and send it to me. I will highlight these projects on our Facebook.
