Temporary Learning Plan

Crews are making steady headway inside Thunder Vista, with work progressing to address soil excavation, as well as electrical and plumbing repairs. Our teams continue removing soil and gravel to fully expose underground utilities, which allows them to properly inspect, repair and reinforce plumbing and electrical lines.

Recent work also includes installation of new supports for conduit and piping, along with early steps to restore lighting and other building systems. In some locations, contractors are widening work areas to ensure utilities are protected and positioned for long-term stability.

We continue to have our project manager on site to monitor conditions and closely track progress. This oversight helps ensure that each completed phase meets our standards and supports our overall repair timeline.

Although much of this work is not visible from outside the building, it represents meaningful progress. Our contractors, engineer and project manager remain aligned with our plan to reopen Thunder Vista for the 2026-27 school year.

Smoke remediation at Thunder Vista was completed on February 4. Cleanup in the crawl space has been finalized, along with thorough cleaning throughout the building to address fire- and smoke-related impacts.

An independent firm has also conducted indoor air quality (IAQ) testing, and we expect to receive the full report in the coming weeks. We will share those results once they are available. As a reminder, prior air quality testing conducted in March 2025 found levels within normal ranges.

We will continue monitoring air quality as repairs progress to ensure the building is safe and ready for students and staff when it reopens.
