Problem Solving Process

At Thunder Vista P8, we believe in addressing concerns in a clear and collaborative manner.  Our Problem Solving Process outlines the steps and chain of communication to ensure issues are resolved effectively, starting with direct communication with the teacher, and escalating as needed to support our students and families.

Problem Solving Process  Presentation 

Classroom Teacher

  • When you have a concern or issue in your student’s class, the first step is to reach our directly to the classroom the teacher, or staff member who the concern involves.  They have the most insight into your child’s experience and can often address the issue right away.

SEL/Mental Health Team

  • If the concern involves a peer conflict, or a mental health or social concern you can bring it to the school counselor, Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SEL), mental health team or other appropriate staff to ensure the situation is addressed appropriately.

Principal and Assistant and Principals

  • If the issue continues, you can contact the administrative team, who will work with you and your student to make sure that the situation is taken care of appropriately.  Our Administrative team is committed to working with you to find innovative solutions to support student success and safety, while always keeping in mind the need to follow District and School Board policies.

District Leadership

  • If a resolution cannot be reached, or if you feel your concern needs to be escalated further, you may contact district leadership.  They are available to assist in addressing ore complex issues and ensuring that your concerns are heard and addressed in alignment with district policies.
