Hello Thunder Vista! I am delighted to be a part of the 2nd grade team! Teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember, I find so much joy in working with kids every single day, and seeing the growth and development of the whole child throughout the school year. The power that teachers have to create an environment where students are excited to learn each and every day is exciting to me, and I love working as a class to create lifelong learners. I believe that each child learns best through hands on, student directed learning. I believe in the importance of building a classroom community, and not teaching just academics, but the whole child.
This will be my 5th year as an educator, my first 4 years I was teaching in Minneapolis Minnesota. I have had experience teaching in a vatiety of settings as well as grade levels, but I have to say, 2nd grade has my heart. I recieved my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska. While I have been living in many states I have to say I am excited to be back in my home state where I was born and raised. I beleive my experience paired with my passion to be an ever growing educator make me a great fit in the THV community. I cannot wait to continue to hone in on my practice, and become a part of such an inclusive community!
