Hi all! I am so excited to be part of the Thunder Vista community. I can't wait to get into the classroom and start building relationships with students and staff alike!
I was born and raised in Wyoming and went to the University of Wyoming where I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After I graduated, I moved to Denver with my now husband and began teaching 4th grade. I taught 4th grade for 8 years and then moved to fifth grade in a new school. My first year teaching fifth grade, I also decided to go back to school and get my Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics. I spent 3 years in fifth grade and now I am ready for a new adventure in third!
I have been married for 10 years and have two children, one of whom will be a second grader at Thunder Vista this year! I enjoy spending my free time with my family hiking, reading, cooking, baking and traveling.
In my classroom, I believe that every child must feel loved and cared for in order to reach their full potential. Social Emotional Learning is also a major focus of my class. I strive to create a classroom environment with student input that cultivates and inspires critical thinking. It's going to be such a great year and I'm eager to get started!
