Thunder Vista Enrollment
Preschool options are still being finalized for Thunder Vista. The district’s current plan is to open three to four preschool classrooms at Thunder Vista. Two additional preschool classrooms are also scheduled to open at Arapahoe Ridge Elementary in Fall 2018 as part of their building expansion project. The district is currently developing a tuition-based preschool option for families of students who may not meet the criteria of the Colorado Preschool Program or qualify for Special Education services. In order to obtain a better understanding of community preschool interests and needs, a preschool interest survey will be emailed to prospective preschool parents in the northwest part of the district in January 2018. This survey will provide the opportunity to complete a survey that will seek information on a number of factors including:
- General interest in preschool
- Interest in half day morning or afternoon preschool
- Interest in a potential full-day preschool option
The information gathered during this process will guide and inform programming decisions. The official preschool application window will open March 12, 2018. You will also need to contact Thunder Vista Registrar, Chris Mountain at 720-972-5735 or email@example.com to schedule an enrollment appointment.
Thunder Vista P-8 anticipates offering extended-day and half-day kindergarten opportunities.
If you were unable to attend kindergarten enrollment night Jan. 29, you will need to submit a kindergarten intent form by Feb. 9, 2018. You will also need to contact Thunder Vista Registrar, Chris Mountain at 720-972-5735 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an enrollment appointment.
First through fifth grade
There are currently no enrollment information nights planned for current first- through fourth-grade students who plan to attend Thunder Vista P-8 for the 2018-19 school year.
Current first- through fourth-grade students who reside in the Thunder Vista boundary but attend school at their designated Adams 12 boundary school will be automatically enrolled at Thunder Vista. No additional action is required.
Parents of current first- through-fourth-grade students who reside in the Thunder Vista boundary but do not attend a designated boundary school and intend to enroll at Thunder Vista for the 2018-19 school year must contact Thunder Vista Registrar ,Chris Mountain at 720-972-5735 or email@example.com to schedule an enrollment appointment.
Middle School (Sixth through Eighth Grade)
Current fifth grade students, who reside within the Thunder Vista attendance boundary, will attend middle school at Thunder Vista as those students will be in a transition year and the district has strong interest in supporting enrollment relief at Rocky Top in sixth grade and building the middle school program at Thunder Vista.
Thunder Vista sixth, seventh and eighth grades will be open for choice in round 1 and possibly round 2 for middle school students outside of the Thunder Vista boundary. Enrollment has been opened to Choice to ensure an adequate middle school enrollment. Choice will be approved pending analysis of in-boundary interest. Please note the district does not expect to be able to approve Choice for kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Thunder Vista in future school years. Therefore, there is unlikely to be sibling priority for Choice students at Thunder Vista.
Enrollment for middle school at Thunder Vista (sixth through eighth grade) is anticipated to begin in April 2018.
