Hello Thunder Vista community! My name is Emily Binzel and I’m the part time academic interventionist working with students in early elementary school grades, focusing on building foundational math skills. I love working with students to build a deep understanding of mathematical thinking while having fun learning! I have felt so welcomed by the Thunder Vista community over the past year and I'm looking forward to this upcoming year as well.
A little about my background - I’ve always been a Buffalo at heart as I’m a Colorado native who graduated from the University of Colorado with Psychology and Education degrees (Go Buffs!) in 2010. After being an intermediate classroom teacher in Jefferson County Public Schools for eight years, I stepped into this new role working part time as an interventionist in Adams 12 last year. This change worked well, as my husband and I have a toddler and newborn at home, whom I love spending time with doing fun activities like going on walks, trying a creative art project, or singing songs and reading books.
