Hello! I'm Ms. Newton and I am so happy to be joining Thunder Vista in the Fall. I recently moved up north with my younger brothers, and am loving hiking and exploring all the amazing places up here. I grew up in the Adams 12 district and love it here. I went to Cotton Creek Elementary School, Silver Hills Middle School, and Legacy High School. After high school, I earned my BA in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Math and a Minor in Special Education through the University of Northern Colorado. While earning my degree, I studied abroad in Ireland (which soon became my second home). It was an incredible experience that allowed me to see so many different perspectives all at the same time while I traveled and learned.
I've taught 5th grade, 8th grade math, and 3rd grade, and have loved seeing how standards and knowledge builds as students go through school. I'm passionate about building lessons that foster engagement and curiousity, as well as develop active global citizens who want to make a positive change in our world.
